Fassade Lakhta Center
Calculation of the facade fixing plates for the Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg as an freelancer employee of Lindner Fassaden GmbH.
The fastening plates were modeled as 2D surface elements in Scia-Engineering, the concrete was modeled as a subsoil with the appropriate rigidity
and the anchors as a non-linear joint.
The dimensioning was carried out using the SNiP standard.
The anchor design was carried out with the Hilti Profis Anchor software.

Addition of storeys to a house
The project is about a single-storey building built in 2000. The load assumption for the structural design loads predicted the addition of 3 extra storeys. The present owner wants to build 3 additional storeys and a roof addition. The complexity of the design lies on the fact that the original 1999 design didn‘t comply with the anti –seismic standards.
The additional structure will be a steel structure with composite slabs . The columns will be extended into the foundation and through the 1st Floor.
The two structures are completely independent.

Structural Design of three solar parks
The project is about the structural design of the subconstruction of 3 Solar parks for the PUK Solar Company. The owner is the Hellenic Petroleum. The frames are formed of cold-formed thin-walled slotted Profiles, 8 of these form a substructure. Each one of the 3 parks has an arrangement of several substructures. The substructure was dimensioned using a framework model in the SCIA – Engineer. Moreover, a 3D FEM Model of the frames and purlin were checked with Strand 7 as an additional verification.


Replacement of the Flare Pipeline at the Hellenic Petroleum refinery
The pipeline has a total length of 700 m, standing on 7 m height above the ground. Initially its diameter was 20”.
The pipe has been replaced by a new one of 36” diameter. The pipe contains combined liquid and gas burning products of the refinery unit
in high pressure and temperature up to 400 degrees Celcius.
The project involves the analysis of the pipe itself, and the strengthening of its supports as well.
For the analysis and design of the system, an analytical Finite element model has been developed using Strand7. The analysis has been performed concerning material and geometric non-linearities.

Steel residences in Ierissos
Cluster of four vacation residences in Ierissos, Chalkidiki and three vacation residences in Nea Roda, Chalkidiki. The skeleton of the houses is consisting entirely of steel frames. The outside walls are constructed using thermal-insulating panels on the centre of the wall, and both-sided coating of shotcrete.

The structure is two-storey with flat plates without beams and mat foundation which also forms the basement floor.
The structural analysis with shell and linear finite elements was performed using SCIA Engineer και ECtools software.
The project has been participated in the Nemetschek Stuctural User Competition and it has been published in the corresponding book

Industrial shelter
The shelter has a total area of 1500 τ.μ. It is composed by two similar independent parts of length 36.75 m and width 20 m each, arranged in line in the longitudinal direction. The shelter sides are open in all directions.
